AWD (all-wheel drive)

All four wheels drive, which helps on slopes, soft ground and wet grass.

AWD (all-wheel drive)

AWD changes what the mower gets over: a steep slope, a root, soaked ground where two wheels spin. The trade-off is a heavier, costlier robot that marks the lawn more. On flat, even ground it adds nothing measurable, and the advertised slope is worth checking in tests rather than on the spec sheet.
