The standout feature of the R730 is undeniably its EdgeEase system. Unlike traditional robots with blades centered under the chassis, the R730 deploys an articulated arm equipped with its own sensor. This arm precisely follows irregular boundaries, walls, and flower beds, ensuring a seamless “zero-gap” cut.
HoloSense Fusion Navigation and Thermal Safety
Beyond its cutting mechanics, the mower relies on the HoloSense Fusion system. By combining dual LiDAR, AI vision cameras, and PPP-RTK positioning, the robot maps its environment without any perimeter wire. Notably, the R730 integrates infrared thermal detection specifically designed to spot small animals hidden in dense grass, preventing the tragic accidents that can occur with autonomous mowers.
6-Motor AWD for Extreme Terrains
The mechanical configuration of the R730 is particularly robust. Anthbot has equipped its flagship with an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system based on six distinct motors: four for driving each wheel and two dedicated to steering. This architecture allows it to climb slopes up to 40 degrees (84%) and clear vertical obstacles of 7 cm, placing it at the top of the market for rough and steep yards.
The R730 vs. Existing Solutions
While Anthbot’s pitch is compelling, it is worth comparing it to current premium alternatives. The articulated mechanical arm approach differs from competitors (such as the offset cutting discs on the Mammotion Luba or Segway Navimow) by potentially offering more flexibility around obstacles. However, this system involves moving parts exposed to debris and impacts, and its real-world durability has yet to be proven.
