heise and PC-WELT land on the same order of magnitude on the A2: under 5 cm of uncut grass against a fixed boundary, wall or fence. heise puts that on a level with the ECOVACS models and well ahead of the LUBA mini, which leaves over 12 cm.
The cut is only 22 cm wide, which heise calls merely average at this price, against 32 cm on ECOVACS and 40 cm on Mammotion. The edge comes out clean; the area takes time.

PC-WELT watched hoses, pipes and rakes avoided without damage, and describes a clear step up from the A1. heise measures LiDAR reach up to 75 m over a 59° vertical angle. The same PC-WELT tester, however, failed three times to map a 2,000 m2 plot, with an error message each time: the machine stalls when the boundary is not marked by something hard, paving or gravel.
PC-WELT measured 55 dBNoise level (dB)Noise produced while running, in decibels, on a scale that is not linear. while mowing and a 50% maximum slope. heise reports fraction-of-a-second stops during navigation, wheels slipping on uneven ground and the mower sliding back during turns on a slope.

Early Dreame A2 reviews mostly praise the step up from A1: richer mapping, LiDAR plus AI camera perception, systematic mowing and multi-map support. It remains a premium mower: setup is approachable, but pricing is high and advanced settings still require careful app work.
