What the brand promises, what independent tests actually found, and the limit to plan around.
Four driven wheels, one motor each and suspension, rated for an 80% slope, roughly 38°, over roots and broken ground.
The measurements do not line up. heise took the LUBA mini AWDAWD (all-wheel drive)Every wheel drives (usually four, occasionally three depending on the model), which helps on slopes, soft ground and wet grass. up to 38.6°, which confirms the order of magnitude. Notebookcheck did not verify the 80% figure on the LUBA 2 AWD and reports the manufacturer's number as such. On the LUBA 3 AWD 3000 the claimed slope did hold; on the 1500, testit.de saw the mower negotiate a slope without spinning out but did not measure it.
Traction is paid for in turf. Notebookcheck found the wheels plough the garden on soft or waterlogged ground. That is the other side of the slope figure, and it shows up in the first wet spring.

The 120 mm secondary disc is the real change in this generation: it brings the uncut grass strip down to 5-10 cm in real use per Journal du Geek's body text, the only published measurement (8-15 cm in its own recap table, both figures coexisting in the same article), versus 15-20 cm on a single-disc mower - a gain also confirmed by EasyLawnMowing, Maison et Domotique and Julsa without a figure attached, without eliminating the margin entirely on irregular or tall edges. Four independent tests reach this same conclusion: Journal du Geek (France, Gregori Pujol, 8.5/10), EasyLawnMowing (UK, Mark Haley, 90/100), Maison et Domotique (France, Cédric) and Julsa.fr (France, JulSa_, unit loaned by Mammotion, 9/10 score on no standardized scale). Obstacle detection convinces all four on real, varied objects (a ball, a garden hose, gloves, car keys, a small 3.5 cm garage remote per Julsa); Journal du Geek and Maison et Domotique each flag transparent objects such as a glass bottle, with Maison et Domotique adding very flat or grass-colored objects. AWD traction handles slopes and rough terrain confidently per all four - Julsa says he verified Mammotion's claimed 80% on his own property, though without publishing a degree measurement, and none of the other three testers measures a precise value either: the figure remains the manufacturer's own for this corpus. Several limitations recur, each flagged by at least two of the four testers. The first mapped zone must be within 5 meters of the charging station, and the total distance between separate zones appears capped at about 50 meters, per EasyLawnMowing and Julsa. The app does not let you set obstacle-detection sensitivity differently for interior mowing versus edge passes, something Journal du Geek and Maison et Domotique each report independently, without citing one another. The side edge disc is fixed at 50 mm height, not adjustable, per EasyLawnMowing and Julsa, who both also call the mower fairly heavy for frequent drop-and-mow carrying. Journal du Geek and Maison et Domotique also each independently note that NetRTK shows its limits in a heavily enclosed or wooded garden, and both recommend the LUBA mini 2 AWD 1500 with LiDAR in that case - notably the only version sold in the US market, per EasyLawnMowing and Julsa. On runtime, the measured figures diverge from the manufacturer's spec sheet (150 minutes of claimed runtime, about 430 m2 per charge): Journal du Geek measured 175 m2 per charge on complex terrain and up to 300 m2 on open ground, about 15 hours total, charging included, to cover 1,000 m2; Maison et Domotique, on a complex 800 m2 plot, measured about 250 m2 per charge over two hours of use. The two complex-terrain measurements line up, well under the manufacturer's figure. Journal du Geek also clocked a 9% to 85% recharge at about 75 minutes - a faster pace than the claimed 150-minute full charge time would suggest (isolated measurement, not corroborated by the other three). He also notes that some zones are occasionally missed depending on the garden's layout, particularly around trees and in complex corners - a limitation he considers common to all wire-free mowers, not specific to this model. Measured noise also came in under the claimed 58 dB: 49.8 dB in standard mowing and 57 dB in edge mode per Journal du Geek, about 55 dB per Maison et Domotique. The 6.1 Ah removable battery, swappable by opening a screwed hatch, is confirmed by both Julsa and Maison et Domotique. On the subscription: NetRTK/iNavi navigation itself stays free for life per Journal du Geek, EasyLawnMowing and Maison et Domotique; the 3 years of included 4G cover connected features, and home Wi-Fi remains available afterward as a free alternative for standard mowing - but remote piloting outside Wi-Fi requires a subscription after that period, per Journal du Geek and Maison et Domotique. Journal du Geek also notes light wear marks in the lawn at U-turn points, a consequence of the skid-steer turning that gives the mower its slope traction, especially on soft or wet ground. On weight and warranty: Journal du Geek and Maison et Domotique both measure 15 kg (our own spec sheet, corrected accordingly, previously listed 17 kg); on warranty, Julsa and Maison et Domotique confirm Mammotion's claimed 3 years, which leaves Journal du Geek's stated 2 years as an outlier. Americans should note that this 1000 size is not sold in the US at all: per EasyLawnMowing and Julsa, the US market only carries the LUBA mini 2 AWD 1500 with LiDAR, a different navigation stack.
