What the brand promises, what independent tests actually found, and the limit to plan around.
An edge module brings the cut to around 3 cm from the boundary.
Senses measured roughly 3 cm with the module against roughly 10 cm without it: the function does what it says. Two reservations. The module was sold separately, 1,799 SEK at the time of the test, and once fitted it drops obstacle clearance from 8 cm to 5 cm and reduces agility.
Depending on the version the module ships with the mower or is bought separately: the 3 cm figure assumes it is there. The same test found software still under construction, mowing patterns pushed back, and passages between zones needing close to a metre.
Four independent tests of the Roborock RockMow Z150 (T3, home&smart and Testsieger.de explicitly on this model, plus Senses.se on a unit from the RTK Z1 line whose exact size isn't confirmed but which testers describe as identical bar battery and coverage) converge on one point: the active front-wheel steering combined with the independent rear suspension makes the mower noticeably gentler on the lawn than rivals, with no scuffing on turns, a finding shared by T3, home&smart and Senses.se. Obstacle avoidance (Quad Vision, 4 cameras) is judged broadly reliable, but T3 and Senses.se find it a touch over-cautious, leaving a wider uncut margin around objects than necessary; home&smart goes further, documenting one clear miss (a run-over tennis ball) and an erratic resumption pattern after skirting an obstacle, while Testsieger.de separately notes that small, awkwardly placed objects aren't always caught in time. On edge cutting, Senses.se reports cutting to about 3 cm with the optional PreciEdge module fitted versus about 10 cm without it, a figure Roborock itself states and which T3 and home&smart both reproduce without measuring it themselves; T3, which tested without the module, confirms observing a roughly 10 cm strip of uncut grass along boundaries, and home&smart, which tested it fitted, gives no figure but observes a very close cut along edges the mower can drive over and a remaining strip along hard edges (walls, bed borders, stone kerbs). Two testers (home&smart and Testsieger.de) saw the mower get stuck on their lawns, respectively against a stone-edged seating area it failed to recognize as a single obstacle (picking up a few scratches on the housing for Testsieger.de) and repeatedly against a fence or in a dip, needing manual freeing each time. On RTK antenna setup, opinions differ: for home&smart everything worked on the first try, firmware update included; Senses.se calls the same step "actually very simple"; Testsieger.de, by contrast, had to redo it several times and restart the app before getting a stable fix, an outlier one in three. Senses.se also notes that in July 2026 Roborock announced a beta rollout of nRTK positioning that would eventually make this physical antenna unnecessary. Views on automatic mapping don't line up either, with no apparent link to test date: home&smart (May) finds it smooth on the first attempt, both in manual and automatic mode; Senses.se (June) watches it arrive mid-test; Testsieger.de (late June) still finds it flagged as beta, with repeated connection drops between the antenna and the mower; T3 (July) finds no auto-mapping option at all and has to trace the boundary by hand, while noting other reviews have since reported it arriving. On narrow passages between zones, Senses.se reports that the 0.8 m Roborock states proved insufficient in its garden, with at least 1 m needed in practice, a finding Testsieger.de doesn't confirm: it had hardly any trouble with narrow passages in its own garden. Price remains the most shared criticism, raised by T3, home&smart and Senses.se: GBP 2,999 in the UK for the Z150 T3 tested (against GBP 1,699 for the Z115, GBP 2,299 for the Z130, and up to USD 3,500 stated in the US by the same tester), a EUR 3,499 list price in Germany for the Z150 per home&smart and Testsieger.de (home&smart also giving EUR 1,999 for the Z115, and Testsieger.de separately showing, through its own price-comparison widget, a street price from EUR 2,699), and from SEK 23,499 for the RTK Z1 line per Senses.se, which doesn't publish a Z150-specific price. Each test also reports isolated points the others don't confirm: Testsieger.de measures about 60 dB at one meter, a level it itself calls quiet, but judges edge cutting disappointing even with the built-in edge mode, without it being clear whether the PreciEdge module was also fitted; it also reports a live camera feed in the app, while home&smart reports no camera access at all, including in an update to its article published after Testsieger.de's test: the contradiction between the two remains unresolved. Senses.se notes lastly that its test unit was sent by Roborock, with no editorial influence according to the outlet.
